(AP) The patriarch of the McCoy family, who shook hands with the Hatfields to end the nation's most famous family feud, will be buried Wednesday and the Hatfield Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements. It was Jim McCoy himself who chose the funeral home in nearby Toler, before his death Saturday at age 99, said chapel owner David Hatfield. "This is where he wanted to come," said Hatfield, 42, who said he "really never did try to run down" his exact ties to the family involved in the legendary dispute. McCoy, a gentle man who claimed to have once drawn water from a well to give outlaw Jesse James, was born in 1884. Two years earlier, the first blood had been shed in the decades-long Hatfield-McCoy feud that by some reports took 150 lives.

The commission is receiving public comments on that action until Feb. 27, after which it will make a final determination.
