Summary
- Eddie will likely never return to Below Deck due to issues with Bravo and not being asked back.
- Eddie's treatment of a co-star, Rayna, and public criticism of Bravo may have led to his departure.
- Despite not returning, Eddie has found success as a captain on a tugboat in Baltimore Harbor.
Eddie Lucas made his debut on Below Deck season 1 and appeared in several later seasons, but he will not be making a return to the franchise anytime soon or maybe ever. The former deckhand worked his way up the ranks to become a bosun and later the first officer on the Bravo series. The Baltimore native still spends his time on charter boats and yachts, but he revealed multiple reasons for leaving the franchise behind forever.
Eddie became a fan favorite after his multiple-season run on the series, but he did make some questionable choices. Eddie had an infamous boatmance with third stew Rocky "Raquel" Dakota during Below Deck season 3, despite having a girlfriend back home. The pair hid their fling for most of the season before it was confirmed in the season finale. Their laundry room trysts were one of the highlights of the season, but Eddie matured before coming back for Below Deck season 8.

Below Deck's Eddie Will Likely Never Return
He Doesn't Want To Return For A Second Time
Eddie's final appearance was on Below Deck season 9, and he made it clear he wouldn't return for Below Deck season 10 or any other season after. Eddie and Captain Lee Rosbach developed a strong working relationship throughout their time on the show together, and it's disappointing that their bond will likely never appear on-screen again. However, even if Eddie did decide to return for Below Deck season 12, his relationship with his captain wouldn't be seen anyway since Captain Lee left Below Deck.
Eddie doesn't want to return to Below Deck, especially since if he were to return, it would be his second time coming back.
Eddie started his last season with Below Deck replacement Captain Sean Meagher, and the dynamic between him and Captain Lee was noticeably missing. There doesn't appear to be any ill will between Eddie and Lee, but he does have issues with the network, Bravo, and the show overall. Now that it's been over two years since Eddie appeared on the show, he might be over any chance of returning anyway.
Eddie Wasn't Asked Back To Below Deck
He Made Some Unsavory Comments About The Network
It wasn't surprising to learn Eddie was not asked to return for Below Deck season 10. After publicly exposing Bravo for not paying the cast members enough, he will likely never get invited back. Eddie said during an interview with The New York Post that the cast gets paid the lowest amount compared to other Bravo shows. This revelation probably wasn't something the network wanted out in the open. Eddie likely crossed a line that Bravo didn't like and decided they no longer wanted him on the show.
Eddie Didn't Have The Best Last Season On Below Deck
He Had Issues With Rayna At The Reunion
Another reason that Eddie was likely let go from Below Deck was his treatment of his co-star and deckhand Rayna Lindsey, whose he dismissed after claims of racism on the boat. Rayna opened up to Eddie about Chief Stew Heather Chase saying a racial slur while the crew was out for the night. Heather, who was a little tipsy, said the word right in front of Rayna, who tried to shake it off. It ate at Rayna, and she couldn't let it go, so she opened up to Eddie, who essentially dismissed her feelings.
Eddie made a mistake going after Rayna, which likely ended his career on Below Deck.
While this was somewhat seen during Below Deck season 9, the crux of Eddie's demise mainly took place at the reunion. Rayna went in on him during the reunion, and Eddie did seem defeated. However, they did show a clip where he revealed Rayna had said a hom*ophobic slur, which she denied. Eddie was clearly trying to make Rayna look like the bad guy and was trying to get out of the situation unscathed. It didn't work for him, and he knew going into filming the Below Deck season 9 reunion. Eddie apologized, but it wasn't enough to save his reputation.
Eddie's comments towards Bravo and his situation with Rayna may have shut him out of Below Deck, but other opportunities arose for him. Eddie was officially promoted to captain on a tug in Baltimore Harbor shortly after he completed his last season. Despite his time on Below Deck abruptly ending, it's clear Eddie made valuable relationships and gained career experience throughout the show. Even if he never returns, Eddie has earned his place as an accomplished Below Deck alum.
