What's up, Prof? I think most people have just a rough idea of what a professor 👨🏫 does all day. That's why I've decided to post from time to time this semester about what my week looks like. Here we go for week 29:⚡ Flashback: The first exams of this semester in Algorithms of AI 1 and 2 are done.📅 Monday: Preparing computer vision exams and reviewing algorithms of AI exams📅 Tuesday: EvenFAIr project kickoff. First site inspection of our new AI labs, I'm very excited to see how the lab looks in real life after we've only had the plans for many months.📅 Wednesday: 2 more exams📅 Thursday: Meetings with my PhDs and AImotion Bavaria summer party📅 Friday: Last exam and quality feedback meeting for our master program Applied Artificial Intelligence💡 Highlight of the week: Looking forward to the AImotion Bavaria summer party ⛱ 🎉 at our brand new rooftop terrasse!🍬 Bonus: Our paper "Gaussian-Based and Outside-the-Box Runtime Monitoring Join Forces" has been accepted at RV2024 as a short paper.#whatsupprof #professor #artificialintelligence #machinelearning #lecture #research Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt #rv2024

#23daystocelebrateOpenEducation#day12 💥 #OEGlobal23's Day 2 started with a thought-provoking keynote from Dr. Cable Green, Director of Open Knowledge, Creative CommonsThe keynote, titled "Diamond Open Knowledge," drew on the experiments in Open Access as a model to change how we look at Open Knowledge in the future. As Dr. Green explained so eloquently, in the time of AI “I think now is the moment where regulation is starting to happen. discussions are happening at the highest levels, and we need to be in these conversations. today. I think that we need to be looking at public infrastructure, just like we need public infrastructure for research and for educational resources. We also need public infrastructure for AI training, datasets for machine learning, for compute power, etc. ” This is one of 4 exceptional keynotes - watch them all! ▶️ https://lnkd.in/e-5aea_d#openeducation #futureinAI #sustainablefuture #openAI #keynote #diamondopenaccess #creativecommons #educationevents #events

This type of stuff is how we get past the limitations of the current models. In time, I think most of the world, or at least everyone in the AI space will be talking about JEPA and world models. Especially once we hit a brick wall with LLMs and their multimodal counterparts. Open sourcing some of the massive datasets for this stuff was probably one of the most impactful events we will look back on.

During HealthNext Summit #HealthNextSummit2024 this week, it became apparent that public health folk and clinicians need training in computer science in order to engage fully and meaningfully with innovators driving so much of the future of health care through digital and AI technologies. And computer scientists and data scientists require depth in bioethics to fully comprehend the human implications- good and bad- of their innovations. Tanzeem Choudhury Ian Chiang Danish M. Just stumbled upon this cool company called FinalSpark. They’re working on some next-level AI tech using actual neurons. Imagine computers that can think and learn like a brain but are way more energy-efficient and scalable. They’re basically blending biology with tech to create biocomputers. Super fascinating stuff! If you’re into tech and innovation, you should definitely check them out.https://finalspark.com
