FFRESNO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyHomicide Victim Identified; Detectives Searching for Killer Members of the Fresno County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit have identified Dominic Greco, 37, of Clovis as the victim of a recent homicide. Around 4:30 pm on Sunday, February 18th, EMS personnel responded to a report of an injured person along the side of the street, near Chestnut and Harvard Avenues in Fresno. Medics found the man, later identified as Dominic Greco (pictured), to be deceased. Greco’s injuries were not consistent with a natural death, so EMS contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and homicide detectives responded to the scene. Detectives determined this was a homicide. Detectives have contacted many property owners in the areas of Chestnut / Clinton Avenues and Sierra Vista / Clinton Avenues regarding video surveillance footage. If detectives did not contact you and you have video recordings showing nearby streets between 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm on February 18th, you are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office to determine if it can add value to the investigation. Homicide detectives continue to try and learn more about Greco and his recent whereabouts, along with identifying the person responsible for his death. FFRESNO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyDetectives Arrest Murder Suspect On Wednesday, April 3rd, homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to find and capture 36 year old Angel Edward Gaytan. Detectives took Gaytan into custody at a home near Olive and Parkway in Fresno. He had an active warrant out for his arrest related to a recent murder and is now being booked into the Fresno County Jail. Around 4:30 pm on Sunday, February 18th, EMS personnel responded to a report of an injured person along the side of the street, near Chestnut and Harvard Avenues in Fresno. FFRESNO COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyMalaga Homicide Victim Identified The homicide victim located in Malaga on April 30th, 2024, has been identified as 43 year old Jonathan Franco of Fresno. At 4:40 am on Tuesday, someone passing along S. Frank Ave. (between E. Muscat and E. Grand Avenues) noticed a person lying on the ground of an alleyway. They made a report to Fresno County Sheriff’s dispatchers and deputies responded to check on the person. Deputies discovered the man, Jonathan Franco, had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was deceased. Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to investigate. Members of our Crime Scene Unit also responded to assist detectives with gathering evidence and speaking with potential witnesses. Detectives learned from people living in the area that they heard possible gunshots fired between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Monday. However, no reports of this activity were made to law enforcement. Detectives have not identified a suspect. They are investigating this as possibly being gang-related. It is unknown how the suspect arrived and fled. Since the suspect could have been on foot, in a vehicle or on a bicycle, the Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with cameras in the area to contact detectives in order to review potentially valuable video. This marks the sixth homicide investigation the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has conducted in 2024.
