Jeff McPeck Obituary - 04/07/2022 (2024)

Mr. Jeff McPeck, age 60, Telford, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at his residences.
Mr. McPeck was born May 13, 1961, in Washington DC and the son of Ruth Burdine McPeck, Jonesborough and the late George McPeck. He was also preceded in death by father & mother-in-law, Joe & Edith Roberts.
He was a heavy equipment operator and owner & operator of J.M. Backhoe Services. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Joleta McPeck; daughters, Lakeisha Swann and Kela Woodfin; grandchildren, Chase McPeck, Caleb Hackler, Makayla Carroll and Emma Rankin; great-grandchild, Kemari Davison; brothers and sisters, Kathy Kruse (Kurt), Kathy Campbell (Phil), Brad McPeck (Maria), and Brian McPeck (Angie); sister-in-law, Tammy Pitt; special cousin, Lori Ensign; several nephews, nieces, and beloved pet, Sarge.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Tammy Ambrose with Amedisys Hospice for her wonderful care.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2022, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor John H. Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday prior to the service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Ensign, Kelly Wolfe, Lewis Hulse, Don Muldoon, John Neese, Mike McCurry and Mike Roberts.

Joleta I am so saddened by your news about Jeff's passing. He was a really wonderful guy and though I only knew him from his work on my tank lines, he made a big impression of faith, honesty, knowledge and just a nice, nice man. He surely is missed for the light he brought to all who knew him. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Joleta we love you and we will be right here every step of the way. Jeffs loss will be felt forever, but we will carry on and strive to be the beautiful & kind human Jeffrey was.

I got to know Jeff when I was the Building Inspector for the Town of Jonesborough. Jeff was one of the best heavy equipment operator I have met. I considered Jeff a dear friend and I will miss him greatly. The family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear about Jeff passing. I didn't get to talk to Jeff very often but when I did he was always smiling and asking what I had been up to. I grew up with all the McPeck family and Jeff will be missed by all who new him. My condolences go out to the friends and family of Jeff. Our community has lost one of guys that makes it what it is, may he rest in peace, Wassan and Vickie Broyles.

My mother knew Ruth and we would go up to Ruth's when the McPeck boys were young. I remained friends with Ruth after my mother's death and saw family periodically. Jeff and Brian are really good at their work and Jeff has been a good husband, father, and grandfather. A great man gone too soon, but know he is in a far better place. Prayers for family.
